THE EDELMANN DUO

​

The Edelmann Duo is a fortepiano and violin (Rachel Stroud) duo which explores the sound world of 18th-century in a historically-informed way. We focus in particular on the genre of the keyboard sonata with accompaniment particularly popular in France during the 18th Century, remaining in vogue until the 19th Century.

​

Le Duo Edelmann, avec la violoniste Rachel Stroud, explore le monde sonore du XVIIIe siècle d'une manière historiquement informée sur instruments d’époque. Nous nous concentrons particulièrement sur l’interprétation de la sonate pour clavier avec accompagnement, genre très populaire notamment en France au XVIIIe siècle et en vogue jusqu'au XIXe siècle.

THE PRIMARY SOURCES

The Primary Sources explores the depth of chamber music in an historically-informed way on period instruments of the 18th century.

Co-leaders of this duo with the historical flutist Kristen Huebner, our ensemble can be extended to include violin and cello to create a trio or quartet program. We are specialized in the repertoire of the high baroque up until the romantic period. The Primary Sources is a young, vibrant and dedicated group passionate about sharing not only the favourites but also the lesser known composers of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries with the public.

‘’The Primary Sources’’ explore la musique de chambre à la charnière  du XVIIIe siècle et du XIXème siècle d'une manière historiquement informée sur les instruments d'époque.

Co-fondé avec la traversiste Kristen Huebner, notre ensemble peut être élargi jusqu’au quartette et inclure violon, violoncelle  ou alto en fonction des programmes. Nous sommes spécialisés dans le répertoire du haut baroque jusqu'à la période romantique. The Primary Sources est un jeune groupe dynamique et passionné par le partage avec le public non seulement des compositeurs connus mais aussi des oubliés.
